It is not enough to buy high-quality parts; they must also be properly maintained. Although each part has its own service life, good maintenance can effectively extend it.

First, pay attention to proper use during the break-in period. This is fundamental to extending the service life of the engine. Both new engines and overhauled engines must be properly broken in according to specifications before being put into normal operation.

Second, regularly inspect and tighten fasteners. Due to vibration, shock and uneven loading during operation, bolts and nuts of diesel or gasoline engines tend to loosen. All adjustment bolts must be carefully inspected to prevent component damage caused by looseness. Valve clearance, valve timing, fuel supply advance angle, injection pressure and ignition timing should be checked and adjusted in a timely manner to ensure the engine remains in sound technical condition, thus saving fuel and prolonging its service life.

Third, keep oil, water, air and the engine body clean. Impure fuel will cause wear of precision mating parts, increase clearance, lead to oil leakage, pressure reduction and enlarged gaps, and even cause serious failures such as clogged oil passages and bearing burnout. Excessive dust in the air will accelerate wear of the cylinder liner, piston and piston rings. Unclean cooling water will increase scale in the cooling system, hinder heat dissipation, deteriorate lubrication and cause severe component wear. A dirty exterior will corrode the engine body and shorten its service life. Ensure an adequate supply of oil, water and air. Insufficient or interrupted supply of gasoline and air will result in difficult starting, poor combustion, reduced power and abnormal engine operation. Insufficient or interrupted engine oil will cause poor lubrication, severe wear and even bearing burnout. Insufficient cooling water will lead to overheating, reduced power, accelerated wear and shortened service life.

In addition, observe and inspect frequently, troubleshoot promptly, and perform regular engine maintenance to keep the machine running in excellent technical condition at all times.
